The Feeling of Being 'Overlooked'

Everything responds to intensity it would seem. I get very ill if I work really hard to accomplish a goal without much insight, people get defensive a lot of the time when a person talks passionately about almost anything or is too outspoken (esp. when they are critical or controversial) and fire changes colour from orange to blue then almost white when it gets super hot which essentially has an effect on every and anything. We can also agree that for every action there is a reaction, but what doesn't seem to be as naturally obvious is why these truths remain overlooked in our everyday lives as they inevitably have an effect our loved ones.

Bob Marley was a great man when he was alive and the memory of his lifestyle is still a powerful influence. However, as I analyse the effect his death had on his family and also my Jamaican culture there are factors that seemed to be disregarded in our present day lives as it relates to a family's well being as a priority... from whichever background too. His immediate and extended family are very much blessed by his great accomplishments and we can also agree that he may have practiced a fundamental principle as his lyrical content in his music advocates, much like this quote from an excerpt from Charles Haanel's book, 'The Master Key System': "There is a principle of abundance, but none of poverty... where there is abundance, there can be no poverty." If this is a known fact, why is it that many middle-class families struggle to be as influential to their loved ones today despite the failing economy? Wasn't Bob raised in a lesser economical background???

Yes, I have brought different variables into the equation of this discussion such as family psychology, economics, science and a little philosophy,  but did Mr. Marley study any of those subjects at a certified college and as certified courses? I had general or moderate education in those fields of study - nothing extensive or in depth - but I firmly believe that he had the most amazing ability to express those concepts in a universal language as effortlessly  as any well decorated professor in the most grand university. This principle of abundance which he also highlights regularly in his music and in interviews in the media are epitomised throughout his family. Even though he was always so passionate in his words that have also permeated many cultures around the globe, how come they were simply overlooked in my environment? When I was younger and still in high school, I thought that Jamaicans truly revered Bob and his lifestyle. Sadly, when I got the chance to see for myself how other people viewed his influence outside of JA is when I noticed the huge inconsistencies in the effect he really had on my culture and environment. It seemed like his native countrymen didn't use his example anywhere as close to how foreigners use it to their advantage... especially in our music Industry.

Insight is something every man with responsibility needs to seek when moving towards accomplishing ones goals for himself and his family. It allows one to plan to an advantage and to focus his energies in the right way. Without this amazing principle we WILL overlook other important lessons needed to be successful in our endeavors. I'm pretty sure that Robert 'Nesta' Marley had his priorities focused despite the criticism he got for his many women and children outside his marriage (especially from Jamaicans), but in all of that his family is now regarded and has been since his death as royalty. Their obvious blessings in their influence and possessions speak volumes on the necessary ingredients that he did not overlook.

It is therefore very straight-forward that insight is absolutely essential for the development of any great achievement, and without it there are many aspects not worth mentioning in this creative piece that we will fail to understand that wont be avoided. This will eventually result in experiencing that dreaded feeling of great despair that any family member can relate to. When a bread-winner does not accomplish his/her goals for their family or their current responsibilities surpass their current assets or net-worth, it can feel like there isn't much that can be more disheartening than such a reality... which unfortunately seems like a Jamaican and third-world reality.

"Think truly, and thy thoughts

Shall the world's famine feed;

Speak truly, and each word of thine

Shall be a fruitful seed;

Live truly, and thy life shall be

A great and noble creed."

- Horatio Bonar
